Understanding the Weight Chart
Empty Weight
The estimated weight of the trailer before cargo, tools, equipment or personal belongings are added.
Tongue Weight
The estimated amount of trailer weight pressing downward on the tow vehicleβs hitch.
The current chart estimates tongue weight at approximately 15% of the trailerβs empty weight.
Payload Capacity
The estimated amount of cargo the trailer can carry without exceeding its rated capacity.
GVWR
Gross Vehicle Weight Rating is the maximum allowable combined weight of the trailer and everything loaded inside it.
